Integrated Energy-Saving Systems for Buildings
Smart Thermos is an engineering methodology developed around the coordinated performance of the building envelope, climate-management systems and energy technologies. Its purpose is to approach the building as an interconnected system rather than a collection of isolated components.
Component technologies may be supplied by third parties. Smart Thermos describes their project-specific coordination as a building methodology; it does not replace product testing, engineering design or regulatory approval.

From 2014 to 2019, Artur Petkov served as Chief Engineer at ViknoPlus, with responsibility for engineering development, technical oversight and implementation of window systems, metal structures and related manufacturing technologies.
During this period, his work included the development and implementation of engineering concepts related to thermal performance, indoor microclimate and energy-efficient window systems, including developments associated with Smart Thermos.

The Smart Thermos methodology identifies climate-specific configuration, engineering documentation, component selection, testing and code review as separate project requirements for selected U.S. climate zones.
Configurations for cold, mixed and hot climates are described as engineering examples. Each product and application remains subject to applicable U.S. testing, ratings, certifications and regulatory processes.
Artur Petkov is continuing the engineering development and adaptation of energy-efficient window, door and building-envelope systems for U.S. construction conditions through Vikno Plus LLC.
